The Concert Experience
Pre-concert dinners, pre-concert lectures, informative and humorous commentary by the conductor, and the reception after the concert make an evening at the Symphony an enlightening, refreshing and enjoyable way to spend a Friday or Saturday night.
Dinners
The Ensemble
The Ensemble is a lively group of symphony patrons who get together for dinner before Saturday night concerts during the season — it is a great way to meet new symphony friends or introduce music lovers you know to the Lake Forest Symphony. Seating is banquet style and you can select from a variety of pre-order menu selections. Since dinner starts at 5:30 and there is no need to wait for a check after dinner; you may still attend the pre-concert lecture at 7:00 pm.

Pre-concert lecture with Jim Kendros
Why not increase your knowledge of the evening’s concert repertoire? Beginning at 7:00 PM in the Black Box Theatre in the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, music lecturer Jim Kendros will present an entertaining and highly informative overview of the music you are about to hear. Kendros keeps the presentation light and down to earth – he’s compared the music of Schumann and Brahms to an Oreo cookie – come find out why.
Pre-concert lectures are sponsored by The Lake Forest Symphony Guild
The Concert
Sit back and enjoy the comfortable seats in the James Lumber Center auditorium. Maestro Heatherington will speak for a few moments about the evening’s program and then the music begins. “…and all the cares of the day shall silently steal away…” Longfellow. Lake Forest Symphony, the only professional orchestra in Lake County, is an outstanding organization of gifted musicians. The musical artistry is world-class. Enjoy.
Come Again!
We know you will enjoy the Lake Forest Symphony concert experience and look forward to welcoming you again and again, all season long.
