About our Soloist
Nathan Noh is a seventeen year old senior attending Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL. Nathan has been studying piano and music theory under the guidance of Brenda Huang since he was seven years old. Nathan is also a member of a piano trio at Midwest Young Artists as part of their chamber music program. Nathan is the winner of the 2010 Steinway Young Artist Concerto Competition and will be performing with the Lake Forest Symphony Orchestra in March 2010. Nathan also won the 2010 ADM Young Artists Concerto Competition and will be performing with the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra in February 2010.
Nathan has performed solo pieces in the 2007-2008 Young Steinway Concert Series, on Kansas Public Radio in 2009, and will be performing live on WFMT’s Introductions in March 2010. In 2009, Nathan was a finalist in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Youth Auditions, semi-finalist in the 2009 International Institute for Young Musicians Piano Competition, and received second place award in the Society of American Musicians Competition. Other awards include first place in the 2008 Sejong Music Competition, first place in the 2008 CAMTA Roberta Savler Competition, alternate finalist in the 2008 Piano Arts National Biennial Piano Competition, finalist in the 2007 and 2008 West Suburban High School Concerto Competition, first place in the 2007 Chinese Fine Arts Music Competition, and second place in the 2006 MTNA Junior Competition.
Outside of music, Nathan enjoys reading and computer programming.
