Pre-concert lecture with Jim Kendros

Why not increase your knowledge of the evening’s concert repertoire? Beginning 1 hour before Masterworks concerts at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts and Cressey Center for the Arts at Lake Forest Academy, music lecturer Jim Kendros will present an entertaining and highly informative overview of the music you are about to hear. Kendros keeps the presentation light and down to earth – he’s compared the music of Schumann and Brahms to an Oreo cookie – come find out why.

Pre-concert lectures are sponsored by The Lake Forest Symphony Guild

November 11-12, 2017 - A LA BAROQUE
January 21-22, 2018 - SISTERS IN SONG

The Concert

Sit back and enjoy the comfortable seats in the James Lumber Center and Cressey Center auditoriums. Maestro Kulenovic will speak for a few moments about the evening’s program and then the music begins. “…and all the cares of the day shall silently steal away…” (Longfellow). Lake Forest Symphony, the only professional orchestra in Lake County, is an outstanding organization of gifted musicians. The musical artistry is world-class. Enjoy.
