Catherine Winters Bio
19-year old Catherine Winters is one of the leading young flutists in the United States. She is a three-time soloist with the Utah Symphony. She has also been a guest artist of Utah Valley Symphony and the American Fork Symphony. In 2013, Catherine won first place in the National Flute Association's High School Soloist Competition. The following year, at age 18, she was selected as one of fifteen quarterfinalists to compete in the National Flute Association’s Young Artist competition. She was the first prize winner of the MTNA Senior Woodwind Performance Competition, MTNA Junior Woodwind Performance Competition, and the Stillman-Kelly National Music Performance competition. Catherine has won first place in the Utah State Fair Competition, is a 3-time winner of the UMTA Concerto Competition, and a multiple first place winner in Utah Flute Association's sonata and concerto competitions. She also sings with the world-renowned choir, the BYU Singers. She is a sophomore at Brigham Young University and studies with Dr. April Clayton.
