Concertmaster auditions: Wed. 8/27

TIME:

9am-5pm  Actual schedule will be determined after 8/15 deadline for applications (notifed via email)

LOCATION:

2014 Auditions will be held at 878 Lyster Road, Highwood IL 60040  (Midwest Young Artists building)

APPLY:

Applications must be postmarked no later than Aug. 15, 2014.  Send a one-page resumé (with email contact info) and a $50 deposit check (to be returned at audition time) payable to Lake Forest Symphony to:

Choice of ONE of  the following standard concerti:
Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Sibelius, or Tchaikovsky
[first movement with cadenza (with piano accompaniment)]
*LFS will provide an accompanist, however the candidates may use an accompanist of their own.  

Concerti will be heard in the finals only.

*Choices of Concerti are to be specified at the time of scheduling notification.  If necessary, finalists may be asked to play any of the excerpts from the entire list.

PRINCIPAL PAY:
Typical concert week:  3/3hr. rehearsals and 2 concert performances
$837.50 per concert week plus pension


Lake Forest Symphony is a per service orchestra with a collective bargaining agreement between the CFM and LFS. We have a 5 classical concert series plus educational outreach concerts each season.
